DU Student Commits Suicide

A tragic incident unfolded early Sunday when a student from Dhaka University (DU) took her own life by hanging herself from a ceiling fan.

The deceased, identified as Adrita Binte Mosharaf, aged 19, was a first-year student enrolled in the Marketing Department at DU. The distressing event occurred at the third floor of Building No. 19 on Fular Road, within the university vicinity, where she resided with her family.

Following the discovery, she was swiftly transported to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where medical professionals sadly pronounced her deceased.

Adrita's father, Dr. Mosharaf Hossain, a professor in DU's Management Department, revealed that his daughter had been battling illness for an extended period. Tragically, she took her own life by hanging herself with a scarf from the ceiling fan in her room.

Md Bachchu Miah, overseeing the police camp at DMCH, confirmed that the body has been placed in the hospital's morgue, with the local authorities duly notified of the situation.
